Asbestos Help Manchester

Privacy notice

Last updated: 1 May 2026.

Who runs this site

This website operates as a lead introducer service for asbestos work across Greater Manchester. We are not the company that carries out surveys, removals, testing or disposal. When you send an enquiry through this site, your details are passed to one or more vetted specialist companies operating in your area who can quote for, and where appropriate carry out, the work you have asked about.

Information we collect

When you fill in the contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address, the postcode or area you mention, the service you select and anything else you write in the message field. If you contact us by email instead, we collect whatever you choose to include in the message.

We also collect a small amount of technical data when you visit the site: your IP address, the type of device and browser you use, the pages you view, and the site or search that brought you here. This is standard analytics data used to understand how the site is being used and to keep it secure.

Why we are allowed to use it

Under Article 6 of the UK GDPR there are two lawful bases that apply here. The first is your consent, which you give when you submit the enquiry form having read the notice directly above the submit button. The second is our legitimate interest in operating a working introducer service: matching enquiries to specialists, keeping the platform secure and improving it over time.

What we do with the information

We use it to match your enquiry to suitable specialist companies covering your area, to follow up where we need to clarify anything, to detect spam and fraudulent enquiries, and to improve how the site works. If you have specifically opted in, we may also use your email to send occasional service-related updates. We do not sell your personal data.

Who else sees your information

The categories of recipient are:

  • The qualified specialist companies your enquiry is passed to. Once they receive your enquiry they become an independent data controller and will contact you directly.
  • Service providers that help us run the site, including hosting, email and CRM tools.
  • Analytics providers used in aggregate to measure site performance.

We require any provider that processes data on our behalf to handle it under a written agreement with appropriate safeguards.

International transfers

Some of the providers we use store data on infrastructure outside the UK or the EEA. Where that is the case we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure your data is protected to UK standards.

How long we keep enquiries

Enquiry data is retained for up to 24 months from the date you submitted the form, after which it is deleted or anonymised. If your enquiry led to active follow-up, we may keep a record of that interaction for longer where there is a legal or accounting reason to do so.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to ask for a copy of the data we hold on you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to request deletion, to ask us to restrict how we use it, to object to certain types of processing, to receive your data in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact form. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of cookies to keep the site working and to measure visits. We may use conversion pixels to understand which campaigns produce enquiries. You can manage cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Children

This site is not directed at people under the age of 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the data we hold. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep our hosting, transport and storage configurations under regular review.

Changes

If we change this notice we will update the date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the homepage for a period after they come into force.
